Default Eurobracing

I have a little problem. I am in the process of a 110g(72"lx18"dx20"t) build. The tank as it sits now is not drilled and does not have an overlow. It will have a 55g sump with a quiet one 6000 for a return. I wanted to do a single center overflow but the tank has a 14" brace across the top in the middle. Can I cut the bracing out and move it? What would you do?
