Default How best to set up a powerhead

Well, so far my tank is progressing nicely due to the advice I have picked up in this group.

I was wondering whether it is better to have a power head near the top of the tank to move the surface water and help dissapate CO2 , or to place it at the bottom of the tank for better circulation.

I have a Hagen 802 ( I know they are not the best powerheads) and don't know where the best spot would be. I think pointing it at the liverock would help the circulation around the liverock, but also heard that algae feeds off of CO2 and don't want that to build up in the tank.

(Then there is the whole question of using aeration with the powerhead or not.).

Currently the 60 gallon tank has a damsel, blennie, 2 shrimp, liverock, and snails. It also has a sandbed.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks.

Michael
