If it is a algae bloom and you wan't plants put a lot of fast growing lower light type plants in it.. they will out compete the algae for nutrence and clear the water.

So you need to figfure out what kinda green it is.. is the water still green if you take some out and put it in a glass or is it clear?

FWIW my fresh water tank had a greenish look when the water was first put in. once i heated it and put on lights it looked normal.
