Rachel, Just a thought.
It might be wise to check the draw on both types of ballasts....as my 250w ballasts end up drawing almost the same amount of electricity as my 400w ballasts.
I would guess you wont be saving yourself anything worthwhile electricity wise.
You might end up having to look to other areas for power savings....like possibly losing the stove and fridge instead
