slow down...first let us be sure they are dead. have you taken out the bodies? were they solid? shrimp molt on a regular basis, that is they shed their calcarious exoskeleton when they grow. shrimp often do this when in a new system also. they may also hide after molting because they are more vulnerable due to the new skeleton needing time to harden.

so perhaps they are still alive somewhere, keep an eye out.
