Lovely. Env.Can. still calling for a further 5 to 10cm this morning before it turns to rain, and a forecast high of 4. But 19 and 20 for Friday.

With the melt and the rain I bet we see some water in basements this weekend. On the plus side I'm now so desensitized to water on my basement floor (first time I ever had it I freaked out, emptied my basement and took a day off work to mop it up. Mind you it was pretty wet and just pouring in from the footings, the water table had risen so badly. First time was definitely the worst time for me! So far anyhow). But now it just seems old hat to me. Like when I showed up at my inlaws' cabin and the water table had risen so badly it poured into the septic tank and nobody realized it was full and someone used the toilet and it just came geyser like out the basement floor drain (it had nowhere else to go), they were all like "OMG Ew" and I show up and I was like "Meh - I spill more water than that during a regular water change!! Ok granted it doesn't usually have little bits of poo, that's kinda gross, but really as water on the floor goes this is nothing!!! I'll have it mopped up in 5 minutes."

Sigh .. My Schubert had just opened its blossoms and it was looking the nicest it's ever looked since I planted it. I hope the snow shock doesn't do them in. At least my Nanking cherry had finished blooming, *usually* the May snow dump comes just as it's opening, and the flowers totally blast and I get no cherries. Seems like the May "snow reminder" came a little later than usual this year.

Buh.
