I was asked how this tank could be set up as a sump. I had the holes drilled on the bottom of the tank for a couple of reasons.
- I didn't have the room to run the plumbing elsewhere.
- I wanted to be able to use the tank as a display in the future (versatility).
I had an emergency overflow going into my house drainage (the hotwater tank overflow) in case of a runaway auto top-off. Here is
one way that this tank could be set up as a sump (I was going to have part of the flow return into the sump fed directly into the skimmer, not just dumping into the sump as shown). I have for this tank the bulkheads and the glass baffles as shown. I also have a piece of glass to separate the refugium/ frag part of the sump:
