I see. I guess that's not too bad, although I still think I like my idea of using the reservoir better.
There's no deviation in the salinity (although I agree that the deviation in your scenario is likely negligible). Certainly if you don't have the space for a reservoir, that is a workable solution, although seems to me it involves more components and is just a "tad" more complex.
