Well it does say 1/3 HP and 6.4 amps. I may have to take back my statement
It still seems high for such a small motor. However, the maker would not lie. As a matter of interest, I just looked a the name plate on another furnace motor. It is 1/4 horse, and draws 3.7 amps. So there is quite some variation.
