Hagen kits work the same way. But there is one more step. The kit provides conversion formulas. Multiply that number by 0.056 for dKH. Multiply by 0.02 for meq/l.
170x0.056=9.52dKH.
170x0.02=3.4 meq/l.
I'd say your alk is fine, IMHO.
