Default plywood sump

so after looking and looking and looking, only to find nothing that I like, I'm tossing around the idea of making my own sump from 3/4" plywood and simply sealing it with something.

can someone help me out as to what I should seal it with?

the alternative is to goto peavy mart and get a 110gal horse trough for $80..

any tips?
