I use a program called Studio8 by Pinnacle. It is quite affordable, has a ton of features, and is really easy to use. You baisically have different tracks that you drag video, music, sound effects, titles, transitions, etc onto. I think the current program is Studio0 or even 10. I bought it to do home movies with but I have probably done more fish videos than family ones
