No they're not disease resistant. Before Dinomania 2004, I had a couple of sharknose gobies (same genus different species) in the tank, they got ick but none of my other fish did which I thought was weird. Then I would see some of my other fish would have ick sometimes and then it was gone. It wasn't until I found one of the gobies happily munching away on the big fish that I realized why. I fed the gobies a crapload of garlicky food and they all pulled through

Still worth a try IMO.
