no 1.9 is not to big to keep the picture. you should always take pictures on your highest setting (it is easier to make a picture smaller than it is to make it biger) and then post process it to the size you need.

I take all my pictures at 6 meg and I do keep them at that size also, kinda like keeping the negitives. I thin take them and pic the ones I am going to use and process them for what I want them to be for. ie. if I am posting to the board I usaly knock the size way down and upload the new version, but I do keep all the originals from the camera, even the ones I don't use, in dated files backed up onto a DVD (or 3 of them actualy)

so if you are worried about how many pics you can fit on your card but a big one as they are cheep now.
