My hermits switch to every which ever shell laying around all the time. One of my electric blue-leg hermits changes shells about 4 times a week, he has 3 that he uses lol. Also one of my normal blue-leg hermits used a nassarius snail shell. I've seen them in everything so I think anything the right size that they will fit in would work.
