Lets not get caught up on the exact salinity levels, you keep yours at 1.023 I keep mine at 1.026 to 1.027. everyone has a different reading they like. also depending on how you are measuring your 1.023 might realy be 1.027 depending on the temp.
I raise mine my mixing a concentrated 1 gal mix. in my tank every 2 cups of salt I put in will raise my SG by ~0.001 (50 cups in 100 gal of water makes 1.026. so 0.26/50= 0.00052/cup so 2 cups = 0.00104)
so lets say my salinity is down at 1.023 and I want to bring it up to 1.025 then I know I need to use 4 cups of salt desolved in 1 gal of water. I only move my salinity by 0.001/day though so it would take me two days to move it to 1.025
