Haha, sorry Jim but I am still waiting for the bulb to arrive - it should be any day now. I have a sick feeling in my stomach that it will raise the water temp too much but as soon as I know, I'll let you know.
Here is the filter that I'm using (compliments of "chrisd"):
I haven't installed the liquid-tight bulkhead in the side yet - I'm going to dangle the bulb in the tank until I can be sure that it will work first.
Here's a nice picture I took of the cube with the camera's flash:
You can see that there is really nice flow in the tank - I'm estimating about 50X turnover
. Don't worry, with the filter plate in place the current is distributed evenly throughout the tank - just mild turbulence at the surface.
