If you go to this page
http://www.canreef.com/phpBB2/index.php, on the right there is a "view posts since last visit" link. Not only do you get the last 10 posts, but you also get all the ones you've missed since your last visit. I'm here lots, so sometimes there are only 5 posts, but often there are 20 or more posts.
I like the last 10 posts idea, too, though
