If you truly had brooklynella then a 6 - 8 week fallow period would be sufficient. But to go fallow, you would have to take your current fish out and put them into quarantine.
Alternatively, wait the full 3 months and see how your current fish do. Then while you are waiting, quarantine any new fish that you buy.
