started with a 65g hexagon...big mistake, didn't know why it had a small tank under it and a hole in the tank (ok that's an overflow and sump)~ made plenty of errors~ bought cheap equipment then...

A chiller is so worth the money...you don't really have to worry anymore. I am so glad I got one for my little reef....discus beside the reef are over 88 while the reef sits happily at 80 a good...

We have a 50g with an external overflow as our tank is not drilled and a 13g sump underneath. We still have some surface scum if one of the powerheads has slipped and is not agitating the surface...
