ballast electrical question

I have a 400 watt MH ballast that I would like to use for a 250 watt bulb.
I was told by an electrician that that is possible to do. As long as I do not use a bulb larger than 400 watts everything...

If you had a sump, then you could put the drain from the DT into one of those filter socks and clean that out every 2-3 days.

Get some test kits to monitor your ammonia and nitrates. Has the tank gone through its cycle yet? Might be a little early for the fish.
