My tap water tests at 14 TDS and I still use an RODI unit, for a measly $130 or whatever it was I want to eliminate as many potential issues as possible. The filters and DI last forever... lol.

Bio-pellets or carbon dosing is fine, bio pellets are certainly less maintenance. Those blocks will work well with either method, too.

I would go with A5. It's nice to have a big skimmer but you also need a big bioload in that case, that's the whole point of a bigger skimmer. There's also a good chance the pump on the bigger one...

If you are using the refugium as a refugium, I wouldn't put the block in there. If you're just using it as another chamber, no problem.

To get the exact ratio in NSW it's something like 9:1 mag chloride to mag sulfate. A lot of people just use mag chloride for that reason, but epsom salt is pretty cheap so I always add it.

Title says it all, J&L has a bunch of pink ones but they're all pretty big, I'd prefer to grow out a smaller one because the tank isn't huge. Located in GVRD.
