Did the same thing with my rbta and the first night it moved off the rock it was on and went to the other side of the tank. Sometimes it is just luck but in the end it will go where it wants to.

You could try cutting the pellets in half. I use the single eheim feeder, halfing the pellets and adjusting the sliding door worked for me.
