Any time I'm acquiring strange devices for a DYI project the store staff usually look at me funny, and chuckle.:wink:

When I did it last year I kept the q-tank right beside my main tank. That way the fish got the same photoperiod as usual. I used the water from the tank, and an AC 200 filter only. You ed up changing...

Sounds cool. Do you remember what it was called?

Did you catch the doc. on discovery last Sunday about sperm whales? It done really well in CG, and portrayed the life of an 80 year old sperm...

Bake 1 box of baking soda at 300 degrees for an hour. This burns off 1 carbon atom creating a carbonate instead of a bi-carbonate. The result is that it raises PH where regular baking soda lowers it....

Some people may not know about the two part Alk buffer that you can make at home from Baking soda. It cheep and it works.

I wasn't aware that chlorine evaporated that quickly, or that Calgary doesn't add chloramine to their water.

I personally use RODI water because of all of the other nasties that are found in tap...

I haven't had a heater blow up but I did have a mishap where my MH and Pc's fell in the tank. Not sure why but I didn't loose anything. Skimmer pulled rusty colored skum out of the tank for a couple...

Well since there's feed back that this is a probable theory I'll ask him to test for copper. I guess the reason why he hasn't been treating his tap water for chlorine is because a certain LFS owner...

Saw one at Elite the other day. Cool little units for about 80 bucks. Pumps out around 2400L/H or 630 gph. Pound for pound are these economical versus Sieos? They are much smaller though, I'll give...

How much of a gap you have between the edge of the baffle and the sump wall? If there is a gap you could try using thin air craft cable to saw the baffle out.

3x Green candy corals. 4-7 heads
1x Toadstool leather. 3" head, (mounted)
1x Green elephant ear mushroom, 3" inflated, (mounted)

Tony, why dont you do a nice sized water change, and then run the unit out of a rubbermaid. Sounds like a good idea to me.
