I would be very careful with any pump that isn't designated for the specific use you are going to put it to. I've seen various Little Giant pumps with high gph and low cost, I'd be concerned that...

Overflow question. Please help
The tough part is building the right size box for the pump. The box has to be big enough that the pump doesn't drain it faster than it can refill and small enough that it doesn't just remain full. ...

How the west won reefin style
Mini mee! I'd say you are right on track there. I bought the Gen-X Mak 4 to use as the return pump on my 155. I think if you went with the Mak 5 you could T it and run your skimmer as well...

Steve, the sanding ensures that you get a good seal. I would imagine that one coat will just soak in to the wood, you'll barely be able to tell you put a coat on.

I'd give it at least three with a light sanding in between coats.

The things I'd look at...

Your Thoughts
Hello and welcome to the board.
Honestly, I think that the only reasons not to go bigger are: cost then space and weight would have to be figured in on really big tanks.

You guys could make some money. J&L sells PFO reflectors for $40. That leaves you guys quite a wide margin when you think of a $6 cost.
Do I get a share for the idea?
