Since you are renovating anyhow, it makes sense that you consider solar lighting... I can't remember what the thread was called, but I read somewhere about a project using 'sun-pipes' that may work...

I sort of like the Yashia goby, Stonogobiops yashia (hope thats right for the fish I was looking at). This is based solely on the fact that he's neat looking and a shrimp goby.
