since you have 2 250w halides now i would try to get 8 bulbs over your tank, i have a 48" tek fixture with 8 bulbs over a 28" deep tank and its workin out fine but never had 250's so i cant...

ive fed different cichlids cyclopyee's right from the first day and they ate it like crazy, also frozen baby brine worked well without the hastle of hatching them

when getting glass cut at bowvalley he said 1" is about the shortest you can cut it properly and your glass isnt too thick so im shure it can be done without too much problem

i feed them smelt most of the time usally 2-3...

i feed them smelt most of the time usally 2-3 times a week but also frozen shrimp and pollock once in a while.
i usally lose a couple liters of water a day due to splashing even with lids completly...

i would try dripping kalkwasser at night for a week wich will pricipitate out any extra phosphate in your water. also if you dont use carbon i would use that for a while too.
