I keep mine at 82, I know a few others that keep it there as well. I find the growth is much faster.

I have no idea why people would lower down the temp in the winter.

I put mine on the display when I use it, strictly because of a lack of space in the sump. I'm not really sure why you would need to pre filter the water. I would just put it up on the display.

Kept mind at 10-11 for the past year, only had one coral rtn, then again I don't use zeo. Can't really see how 10 is a problem since not that long ago allot of people kept it close to 14.
