I've heard the same thing about sand sifting stars...but, my daughter brought one home because it was cool...and it's been thriving in my 55 gal tank for almost a year now.

Seems that the two lone aptasia I had on one of my rocks have waged war on me after I zapped them with vinegar....the ones I zapped are gone...but they apparently had time to seed themselves before...

Just whipping up a QT tank now won't do any good....just like any tank, a QT has to have time to cycle and stabilize before putting fish into it. ( besides which, all of your fish and your tank have...

I've seen sick/dying/dead fish in all of the local stores...but also have healthy, happy fish from both Rutland and Mission stores.
The problem is that the livestock is being stressed too many...
