with freshwater its more about watts per gallon...
with freshwater its more about watts per gallon then the k value as i understand. I have on top of my planted angel, two t5 ho's that are 39 watts each. Just make sure you dont go super high on watts...

you can actually use normal playsand to grown...
you can actually use normal playsand to grown plants in. if your growing plants youll need to dose with ferts so anything works to grow plants. In my 50 gallon i have playsand and in my 10 and 20...
