I am also on the same page as whatcaneyedo, I built a exhaust fan directly outside from my canopy.
Can you get glass tops for your tank and cover your sump that would help a lot for evaporation.

Not sure how the controller works in this pump...
Not sure how the controller works in this pump but best bet for a wave would have them alternate, I personally just leave my powerheads on to ramp up and down for chaotic flow. Not a fan of the waves.
