I've never heard of pumps breaking in and becoming quieter, what's the logic behind that? As parts wear the pump should become nosier if anything. I think as time goes on people tend to tune out...

Agreed I hate them with a passion but once you go DC I find it's hard to go back. I picked up the new 12000 in hopes the improvements continue past the power supply and controller.

You can activate feeding and maintance modes with the app but you can't change any settings. Also you'll need a LAN card in there to access with app, not sure if that's standard now or not.

Yeah so any probe with standard BNC connection, such as Digital Aquatics, Pinpoint, Neptune, ect. I'm not sure you'll notice much difference in accuracy between any of them, maybe on lab grade...

What kind of controller? Typically probes are compatible. I got a good deal on an Neptune probe (standard grade) so I use it with my profilux and it's fine.
