FWIW, I've never cleaned my sand. Tank is 4 years old. Had cyano once due to lighting issues, used chemiclean, cleared it up.

Yes, it's a filter that purifies the water (RO). The pH will end up pretty much neutral, which is good.

I'd leave it 3 months after all the fish are out. Anything left alive can be a carrier. So you need to move it to QT and treat it. Then QT any new fish. Every new fish. Every time.

And that's just it. I can well afford to stock the entire tank with Tunze, but with the money I save going cheaper, I get most of a week in Mexico paid. So far the WP60 is doing great.
