Sooner or later, I knew someone would ask that question
It's probably named that way for its habit of always having its tail lifted and moving up and down and around and round in what...

Thanks for the explanation and link, Steve.

Re: tufa prices
What does it look like? Do you buy it in small sheets, or is it shaped irregularly and looks more like live rock? I'm going to guess that it is rock that used to be reef rock, but from a very long...

Nope, didn't know that one.
Did you know that there are vents deep in the ocean that spew the hottest, foulest stuff from beneath the earth's crust that have bacteria feeding off the very hot,...

That is what I believe happens with the freezer method, though I have no scientific...

Re: water changes
That's a pretty big water change. Any reason for one so large?
I don't go by the cups per gal rule. I add some salt and mix it with a plastic mixing stick while the powerhead is still...

Flame Angels in Reef Tanks?
I know dwarf angels can be a bit iffy in a reef, but I'm considering eventually adding one to our 42 hex to replace the anthias that disappeared. The only fish I think will be a problem for any new...

We've had them disappear in our 180 when we had it running. They sleep in rock cavities. It was funny to watch the reef as lights-out was approaching because all the chromis would "practice"...
