The Deltic 300 has some problems but for 50 plus gal the 600 would be the best choice seems to not have the problems the 300 has.

I left my rock and sand in after the crash, its fine now. ( over a month) it did take a while to stabalize and things kept dying for quite a while. However you guys are probably right the toxins...
