That is how I will be running mine. But How I will be doing it is that I have an overflow box and bulkhead that until I have the sump set up will be used to take water from the tank into the skimmer....

I am calling it that because in all other designs out there water either flows from the bottom up. Or the top down. Or even swirls it around. I guess I should have called it a dual flow. ;)...
