I am using a fastest Alk tester and a Hagen Calcium tester.
Naesco – you don’t think 6 months for a tank is long enough, before putting in anemone? It has only been 4 weeks for the new tank but...

I am thinking...

Andrew,
Put an add in the paper and in the Buy & Sell. Offer to look after people’s tanks why they are on vacation. You never know what is out there??
Maybe also try Big Al’s or someplace for...

I knew I should have just said 5500 K bulb.
So if more wattage means more lumens which I presume can mean a deeper tank, then if one purchases a 400W ballast, be it a MH or a VHO, and the out put...

I’m not an engineer but can someone explain how wattage affects ability to increase the overall depth of the tank. I currently have 175W MH with 5500 Lumens. Would a 250 W MH 5500 lumens be better...

On top of that, yesterday I learn something new while working in the canopy over the tank. He is now willing to jump up out of the water to bite my arm while it is positioned 3-4" above the water...

Holly Cripes it seems you disturbed a hornets nest. I guess you can never bite the hands that pay as sponsors.
Ask an intellgent question and you get flamed.

Anybody want Xenia elongata?
Andrew, thanks for the frag of the Xenia. 1 question, its open and seems to be happy but it is not pulsing. Is there any special reason why. Maybe too much water current? It is not directly in...

Weird Stand Idea
When I was looking into upgrading my system I was told by a contractor that most floor joists can handle 500 lbs per sq foot. If you have truss joist beams that it is even better than that.

Skimmer and Lighting question
1 more thing.
If I started with a 250W system, would that be sufficent lighting for hard & soft corals? In 2 months time I can then proceed to phase 2 with the 95W VHO actinics?
