I just finished sealing my metal tank stand with dap window and door sealant. It is mildew resistant and goes on white dries clear. I know that this would not be safe to used to seal a tank with, but...

I am considering seting up and automatic water change system for a 25 gallon tank with sump.

Would this be a really bad idea for a small system?
I would use my apex controller with float switches...
