Yes, good eyes, that's what it was alright; that's why I pulled out the glasses and toothbrush. The frag was quite small so it was pretty easy to check.

Thanks neven - I've never really had an algae problem in any of my previous tanks so if I get overrun by algae in this one I'll deduce that the wall had something to do with it.

If the rock and sand did not dry out I doubt you will experience a cycle. I've done pretty much what you've described several times and moved the livestock at the same time without any adverse affect.

I should add that the light doesn't appear as bright to my eyes as my old 250MH set up but the reaction of my corals is telling me the usable light they are getting is more than the MH.
