Bleaching coral
HI guys so i was transferring everything from my old tank to my new tank and ran into a problem where the old tank didnt have any lights for a week as a result my purple acro has bleached, the tips are looking to return to its purple colour but the base is white and brown and some purple. my question is what are the chances of this coral recovering??

Pretty good, but I'd ramp the light up slowly.
|
the corals been in the new tank for a week, with the lights on at 1030 am and off at 11pm. but i do see the corals getting better, i just wish there was something else i could do to get them better quicker

bleaching
an Australian study stated that rotifers helped the healing process in bleached corals

I have my atinics start at 10am to 11pm and the other t5s going from 1030 till 1030. Should I have the lights on for less time?
|
I would have your lights on for shorter time especially if your acros were sitting in the dark for a week, but I guess it's alittle late for that now.
I would've had the atinics on for 8 hrs and the rest for 5 the. Slowly built it up from there. |
I would max the main lighting at 7 or 8 hours, personally.

Thanks guys I will change it up

the thing is i get home late from work and would like to see the tank for a bit, what would be a good schedule for the lights?
