ID assistance?
Hi, I put a tan sebae in my tank last week after it spent 30 lonely days in my QT tank. During that 30 days I never saw any sign of pests. Today I was cleaning detritus from my corner overflow when I noticed this little fellow:
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...pse353b773.jpg I haven't removed and crushed him yet as I am not sure what kind of crab it is. Any suggestions are welcome. The only thing I have seen so far that even looks close to him is Tetralia glaberrima but since there are thousands of species I am *far* from certain. |
I have no idea what crab that is but it's cool!! If you don't want him can I have him?? :-)

I doubt that crab came in on the anemone unless the anemone was attached to a rock then maybe the crab was in the rock. Either way most crabs (even the so-called reef safe ones) tend to cause some or a lot of grief at one point or another so it is usually best to remove them. I always try to find a home for hitchhiker crabs or I put them on a rock in the sump and give them a bit of food everyday.

My wife really really likes it for some reason so I think I will re-home him to the 'fuge where he can play with all the horribly large amphopods and copepods that I have down there. Still not sure on his ID, but I'll keep looking.
