bulkhead
I have been having a problem with a leaky bulkhead. I have a hole drilled on the side of my sump that feeds my reeflo Dart pump. I have a 2" bulkhead where the threads are on the water side of the sump. The gasket of the bulkhead is on the dry side and the nut tightens on the wet side. I know this is not ideal as the threads are supposed to be on the outside/dry side. My challenge is that I can't have the 2" pipe that feeds my pump go through the hole in the sump if I cement the pipe into the bulkhead the correct way.
I'm hoping someone may have a suggestion. |

In your case the gasket on the dry side where your flange is.

Use aquarium safe silicone then tighten.

I was thinking of doing that. what if I siliconed around the outside on the dry side? Or would you remove the bulkhead, silicone the bulkhead where it meets the glass and tighten?

Remove the bulkhead, silicone where it meets the glass then tighten. Just make sure it is very dry before you silicone.
