help Dinoflagellates
 

how to get rid of them, Dinoflagellates are on couple of my zoa's.... few polyps are closed up....

1. should i shut the light off for 3 or 4 days?

2. do a water change? which i do bi-weekly...

3. should i use hydrogen peroxide?

I had a small issue with dinos in my cube tank a while back and here's what I did:

used turkey baster to suck up and get rid of as much dino "snot" as possible
add HOB filter (AC300) with filter floss and high quality activated carbon
continued turkey basting each day

I was shocked that even without a water change the dinos disappeared after about 5 days (2' 60g cube).

I was prepared to have to do several 20g water changes but "knock on wood", no sign for several weeks now.

Other steps I was planning, but luckily didn't have to implement was use Purigen and ChemiPure Elite, as well as the massive water changes.

Doubt you'll get this lucky but this is what worked for me.

I do not think J&L carries it, try Canada Corals.
