Poll: coral dip/quarantine procedures

This poll is about how to prevent flatworms and other types of nasties from getting a foothold in your tank.

The only concern I have right now is with red acro bugs. I'm dipping all new corals with Interceptor for 12 hours. Visual inspection under a dissecting scope follows the dip to make sure there are no bugs. This is still experimemtal to a degree, so we'll see how it goes. I have a few pieces "dipping" now.

I'm no expert, but I just dip some of the corals I get in an iodine wash.

I was actually surprised it didn't kill the resident acro crab which I didn't realize was there

Can someone tell me besides flatworms and red acro bugs (not quite sure what these are), what else are we dipping for and what do we need to avoid? Also how common is it to bring in something bad on a coral frag?

well, I'm starting to experience some slow tissue necrosis now that several others have experienced and I'm losing SPS. I wonder if dips can help there?

Well thanks to all who replied to the poll.

Again I am surprised at people's lax approach to quarantine/isolation procedures.
