Replacing plastic tank center brace
Hi I need to replace my 75g tank center brace with a glass piece becaue it is blocking my led lights. Has anyone successfully removed it and has no problems in the long run? Do u have any tips in doing this? Do I have to saw the brace off while the tank Is empty? Should the glass I use to replace the brace 1/4" or 1/2"?

Y not take the whole brace off and euro brace the tank.

I'd also recommend a eurobrace, except don't do it as pictured above as glass doesn't silicone to plastic trim
Remove the whole trim and do as below (glass to glass) - either one piece or 4 pieces It'll be best done with the tank empty http://www.aco-aquariums.com.au/blog...rnal-weir..jpg |
Didn't even notice the trim on my photo. I just took that pick from the net
But yes remove trim clean and if you can afford it one piece would be best |
Is this method too risky?
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bBU3hpMpRlU I might just try to make some light reflectors to reflect light off the plastic brace then back into the water if I can't euro brace it |
I did that on my 180. Worked fine

Tank ran for a year. Then I sold it. Still in use as far as I know
