Fish Only lighting

What is the best method of lighting to use on a fish only tank? I'm gonna be setting up my 135 (72" by 18" by 24") in about a week and need some suggestions fast.

Regular NO's will do for this set up. A mixture of 10,000's and actinics should do the trick. Heck, you could throw mushrooms in there and watch them multiply

When you say a mixture, do you mean 2 of each. Can you be a little more specific? Is it better to just by compact lighting or DIY?

One of each, 10k and Actinic looks really great. Now, you can chose your brightness with NO, PC, or VHO.

NO should be fine cause you don't want algae problems.

4' 2x48" NO shop lights are 12$ at Walmart. You can DIY some lighting pretty easily with that.

When I put 400w Radiums on my tank, the colors of my fish were a lot more noticeable...

Seems a shame to have such beautiful and expensive fish, then have to squint to see them. I would go PC at least, you could easily fit 2 of the 36" strips over that tank.

Or, what Brad said... no squinting there!

I think it depends on what color of tank u like. If you like ur tank a little more blue than me and ur corals brighter i would use a 20000k MH if you were going mh or use more actinics than other bubls
