Wrasse suggestion
I am looking to add a wrasse to my frag section, it's a bare bottom tank about 40 gallons with a pile of live rocks in one corner. I'm not looking for a beauty queen but rather a good hard nosed hunter. Any suggestions?

Your run of the mill Canary Wrasse is a hard worker. Inexpensive, very hardy and very common. Keep in mind that many of these wrasses like to burrow in the sand to sleep at night. Some will adapt and find crevasses in rock work instead but some don't.

I've had a melanarus in a bare bottom tank for 2+ years now. Used to sleep in the sand but he has his favorite crevise now.
Always looking for bugs and not too expensive. One of the better AEFW wrasses. |
Just put a bowl of sand in there Jason. Mine used crevises in rocks but still ended up nose diving

I did find the melonarous a little more agressive toward other wrasses but in frag tank it'll be fine

ya, my Mellonorous wrasse doesn't much like my Hawaiian flame wrasse but is fine with my leopard tagging along with him.

picked up a melanarous wrasse today.
Thanks guys |
