Peyssonnelia sp

Any had experience with this algae? I'm looking for a definitive answer on how to ID this algae and a definitive answer being yay or nay as Uncle Google provides 100 answers to 1 question!

Had run across this but interested in opinions from this forum.

I have a friend with it in her 14G bio cube. It has not taken over but she grooms it periodically. Personally, I would rather not have it in there were it my tank. You can find some info here: http://biogeodb.stri.si.edu/bocas_da...h/species/6642
This source indicates it is fairly cosmopolitan and so I would expect it to be prolific and hard to get rid of. As for IDing it conclusively, best of luck :). Here is a resource with some key features but it can be difficult at the best of times...

Probably much safer just to get rid of it, but you already knew that :),

thx for the response...yah was leaning towards removing it. It's slightly florescent (maroon'ish) in blue light so hate for it to go! lol
