Some random coral shots under T5's and UV
Here are some new shots I took a while ago. I used a D800e, Nikkor 105mm f2.8 VR, Nikkor TC-20E III, RRS TVC-33s tripod & BH-55 ballhead with Versa 3 quick column. I had two flashes set up (SB-910 & SB-900) on pocket wizards with a pocketwizard and AC3 on the camera. Some are shot with the lights off and a UV flashlight.
Enjoy, Scott http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-s7kPtnk-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-XCP8DXR-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-XNBVhRh-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-3wxgjMV-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-GGdL2dS-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-NBVTP5c-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-v4GgKQr-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-5dmPKMC-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-DrFkzwV-L.jpg http://www.lithicimages.com/photos/i...-5TrfVVH-L.jpg |

Sweet pics man, nice to see you posting here again. Does this mean a build thread will be starting?
|

I believe they are Zoanthids. :)
No names, just nice corals. I will be once I get the tank here Steve. Build threads are boring without tank pictures! |
Great Shots! I can wait till I get a Macro for my Nikon and lear how to adjust the WB correctly.

A good start for WB is to set your camera to custom WB (PRE). If you have a Nikon it likely looks like this on the top:
http://shashinki.com/blog/wp-content...on_d200-wb.jpg Hold down the WB on the left and spin the thumb dial on the right until the little "A" goes to "PRE". Hold down the WB button until it blinks "PRE" in the right window. You are now ready to take a picture of something that is near neutral grey in your tank. Make sure the lights in your tank are all on, and snap a picture of the blandest part of your live rock, white or grey it doesn't really matter. If the camera accepts the WB, it will blink "GooD", if it doesn't try again. Just try to fill the frame with the rock work. Now shoot away in your tank and the WB should at least be better than on "A" setting. If you don't want to do all that you can try the cloudy WB setting or dial it up to 10,000K in the manual WB mode. Have fun! |
Have this same 105 Nikkor lens...it's a beauty!
(nice shots too) |
WOW, wicked pics. I love that eyeball shot in the first one :D
