Looks kinda like purple hornets

canadianbudz604 02-12-2013 12:05 AM

Nice id that is exactly what the zoas are, they are identical to pics on google. Now how bout the palys

The Grizz 02-12-2013 12:06 AM

If the skirt has alternating purple / yellow tenticals they are true purple hornets according to some.

The palys are just a common green paly. They are very aggressive. I had one come on a frag I bought from red coral and it eliminated the colony and three others close by as it spread like a weed.

+1. However, the argument is that both are hornets but the alternating is rare. Perhaps a morph of the first or visa versa.

The "true" hornets are outrageously priced.

If the ones on the left look like mine on the right then there devils teeth and can be a pain in the arse. Mine now cover 2 rocks the size of a large grape fruit & have smoothered out a couple other really nice zoa colonies.
